There are none, you have to go to Williamsburg or bottoms bridge in New Kent county. A good place in Williamsburg is called Victoria they open at 7 a.m. it's located at route 5 and 199. There's one place in Providence forge it's name is Patsy's.
We were there on a Monday night and the food and beer selection was good. Service was laid back. If your in a hurry.... Slow down this is south of Richmond and country (not a bad thing).
This place is wonderful, always love to come here.
Great food and service. Lively atmosphere!
Great food and service in a historical community
This is one of those places we drove by and never stopped, except for today and glad we did. Down to earth good food, homey. With live music and even a llama out front visiting. Good American traditional food and cold ones, we had a Chicken Caesar Salad, Hamburger & French Fries, glass of wine and a cold beer, our total bill came to $ 40.00. Food was excellent with a friendly atmosphere. Look forward to our next return when we come this way.
Had a real good meal here. The owners are hands on. They are very laid back and very nice people. They make homemade bread for their sandwiches. I had the corn beef and swiss sandwich without the thousand island dressing (Ruben). The cheese was liquid YUM.. I will be back for that sandwich .
We loved their delicious burgers and chicken sandwiches! Pickles and pimento cheese are spot on! Curbside service with friendly staff in a convenient spot beside VA Capitol Trail. We will return soon!
Very good food and friendly service. Interesting historical place. Great history lesson.
Love the out of the way location, friendly service and great food.
It's a great local place to get a bite to eat and drink. Locally owned and historic building. The fare may not be for everyone, but a good mix of salads, sandwiches and other American food. Support local and give them a try. Convenient for riders on the Capital Trail. Almost exactly half way either way.
Great place! Good menu, delicious food & polite, friendly & helpful service!
I came to get takeout. They showed me they don't care about their customers because only one employee was wearing a mask while it was mandated to do so. I asked them to bring my order to me outside. They didn't. Had to go back inside to get it. Won't be back.
The food and service was excellent. The atmosphere is also really pleasant. They were super busy so we had to wait for a table to open up, but there was a comfortable bench on the porch to sit on while we waited. They even have a free little library right outside. We will definitely be going back when we are in the area.
We were referred here by one of the plantation employees and oh what a find! Inside it is quaint and welcoming as were the owners and staff. The food was very reasonable and delicious! My husband and cousins had the white chili/ grilled cheese special and talked about how good it was for days. I had the crab cake special and it was awesome- all crab without a bunch of fillers! We'll definitely go back next time we're in the area!!
Amazing food! Awesome atmosphere! So much history. Restaurant was built in 1872!
Great homey place hidden on a side road. Most everyone coming in is greeted by name, transients, like us, are also warmly greeted and served as though we were family.Food is plentiful and tasty. We'll stop there next time we're in the area (Plantation Row) looking over the plantations of another era.
The owner opened the Grille early so a Capitol Trail 30 mile bike ride to aid disabled veterans could have a safe & comfortable way station. A big heart & jovial spirit made the Grille's owner a winner. A great place for lunch & easy access from the Capitol Trail to Williamsburg.
It is a haven for bicycle riders. It has the old style building. Food was good and friendly service. Prices was reasonable. Dine in is open.
We loved the food and the band Southern Hippie Society that was playing we will definitely be going back also the beer was ice cold
The food and service was EXCELLENT !!! I can't wait to go back!
First time, quick lunch stop on wburg to RVA trip. Couldn't be more convenient. Cheeseburger (hey, if you can't do that right....) with swiss and fries was great. The menu offered lots of choices from soup and salads to entrees. The atmosphere and history are very cool and the staff was attentive and friendly. Kudos to the owners and staff for bringing this piece of history back to life. I'll definitely be back!
Holy smokes! This place is a little slice of Heaven!Excellent food and service.
Amazing food and great atmosphere! Owners are the nicest people!
Beautiful, day, delicious lunch, friendly and efficient service!
Nice atmosphere - music but not too loud. Good burger and huge, killer apple cobbler.
Love the historic atmosphere! The food is great and the bar staff are quick with service!
Our first and last visit to Culs grill. Food was fabulous! Service not so good. Arrived at 530, ordered about 535, chicken salad sandwich and club sandwich, took 45 minutes to get our food. Waitress, older lady, never once came over to us during that time. Finally a man came over and said our food would be out in 75 seconds. After eating our waitress finally came over but when we needed our check we flagged down the bartender who brought us our check. Bad experience.
The tour guide at Shirley's Plamtation recommended Culs and the outside seemed a little rough but the food was magnificent. Definitely could tell it was homemade. The apple cobbler and bread pudding was just delicious.
Such a quaint place. Servers were great and very attentive. We sat outside and she never once forgot about us. Cute little lunchtime or date spot. Had the chicken fingers and fries. My my my they were so tasty in that wing sauce.
Wonderful little place. Good food and decently priced.
We were biking on Virginia Five and came across this place. It was not opened but an employee (owner?) was so kind to give us cups of ice cold water. Since their place was closed for another 45 mins, we hung out in the area so we could use their business. Very kind, fresh food and comfortable setting.
Everything is amazing. The food is delicious, the service is great, and if you are a cyclist the location is perfect. Riding the cap to cap trail, Cul's sits 20 miles up the trail from Jamestown and 30 miles down the trail from Richmond. Cozy and warm atmosphere with a bar and Legend's Brown Ale on tap! (My favorite beer.)
We loved the food and all the old architectural details. The coconut cake was amazing - over the past 50 or so years I've tried versions of it in many parts of the Southeast and this was the best yet!
Fantastic Food, great service!!! Really cool setting. Highly recommend
Very good. They are remodeling so we all sat outside on the patio. Lots of people. Friendly service. I would go again. Great stop for cyclists on the Virginia Capitol Trail.
I love this place. Located right on the cap trail, across from Charles City Courthouse. You can call in your order ahead of time and get orders to go. Super friendly and accommodating staff. Good is food too.
Amazingly friendly service and the best food around!!! With a constantly revamped beer and wine list, a fully stocked bar, and a top notch chef... there’s no going wrong at Culs! The staff is always willing to help, whether it be a menu question or just advice on local sites. One of the owners is almost guaranteed to walk by and ensure your meal is meeting your expectations. This is a the definition of small town southern hospitality!
What a gem of a restaurant in this small town community! The food is delicious and the service was excellent! I recommend the crab cake sandwich!
Very friendly place with great service and delicious food! We had ice cold craft beer, chicken wings, crabcakes, and peach cobbler. Yum!
Always a favorite stop during or at the end of a bike ride on the VA Capital Trail. A great beer selection and plenty of delicious options on the menu. Friendly service, too.
We biked the Charles City potion of the Capitol Bike trail today and ate at Cul’s. Delicious burger with onion rings and bacon along with the biggest fried catfish sandwich my husband has ever eaten (the chips were the best too!). My kids loved their food as well. If you are biking the trail or just riding along Rt 5, Cul’s is a place you must eat at (or in our case take out...)
I had a very nice lunch with wonderful service.
Cul’s doesn’t need my review at this point. The place is thoroughly established and well-known, but I love it so much, I have to sing some extra praises. This place is perfect. It’s comfortable, welcoming, serves delicious food, for the right price, in a perfect location, and always with a smile and occasionally live music. I’ve eaten here a lot on my cycling trips out of Richmond, and it is perfectly situated to fuel the last 35 miles home. Plus, the food is just right for biking. Filling, but not greasy or over-rich. On a cold day, get the lobster bisque if they have it on special, and on any day get Sherry’s chicken club. So. Darn. Juicy!
This is a great place out in the country with great food at reasonable prices. Desserts all homemade and the Coconut Cake is the best I have had in a long time!
It has a real down-home feeling to it plus the food and the service it's really good. It also is a good place to stop when you're riding your bike on the bike trail.🇺🇸
Wonderful place and very nice staff! Stopped in today while riding along capital trail
